Mark de Clive-Lowe brings Bangkok into the world of Nu-Jazz
The River Life presents Mark de Clive-Lowe at Raimon Land's The River Promenade
November 24 and 25, 2007
The Chao Phraya is renowned for hosting some of the Kingdom's most
important and colourful festivals – such
as the spectacular Loy Kratong celebration. At this year's festival,
Raimon Land's prestigious new property, The
River, will provide the best seats in the house as thousands flock to
the River of Kings to make merit and enjoy
the stunning full moon fireworks.
In addition to the traditional Loy Kratong activities, The River will
also play host to an exclusive two-night concert
event featuring Mark de Clive-Lowe, one of the most exciting founders
of the Nu-Jazz movement. Appearing in
Bangkok via London and Tokyo, de Clive-Lowe brings his 21st Century
blend of jazz, soul and urban grooves to
Raimon Land's iconic new property.
These special showcase performances will introduce guests of Raimon
Land and other select sponsors, along
with Bangkok's ever-increasing numbers of jazz enthusiasts, to the
fresh new ("Nu") sound that has been taking
the forefront at Jazz Festivals and nightclubs across the globe. As
one of the most innovative live performers
and producers you'll find anywhere, Mark de Clive-Lowe's beat-heavy
jazz/soul/funk performances feature full
studio production improvised LIVE on stage with drum machines, synths,
keyboards, effects, vocalists and
musicians.
The concert on the night of Loy Kratong November 24 is a private event
for guests of Raimon Land, while the event on November 25 is open to
the public. Tickets for the event on November 25 are THB 300 and are
available at The River Promenade now, and on the night of the show.
To get to the event, get yourself to Taksin Pier and grab a seat on
the boat heading for The River!
