Internationally acclaimed trio Hoenig Pilc Project
taking jazz to new horizons
Enlightened Planet presents Hoenig Pilc Project at Siam@Siam Design Hotel & Spa’s Party House One

Ari Hoenig and Jean-Michel Pilc have been making great music together since 1995, the year that they both decided that they wanted to move to New York City to expand their musical experience at the center of the jazz universe. Having released seven CDs together, the two finally formed the Hoenig Pilc Project in 2006 to meld their two trios into a single, uniquely bold musical statement.
As composers, they bring their sense of musical architecture and colors, and their love of innovative rhythms and uncharted territories. As instrumentalists, they create sounds and flows which are always different, fascinating and unique. An exhilarating experience.
“The right hand runs of jazz pianist Jean-Michel Pilc are enough to send shivers up your spine, but this Frenchman is about more than chops… his densely harmonic reinventions of jazz standards you thought you knew clearly shows a musical genius at work.”
- Eric Brace, The Washington Post
“Pilc ranks among today’s titans of the instrument… there’s more to his art than the speed, precision and power of his 10 phenomenal fingers.”
- Howard Reich, Chicago Tribune
“One of the most promising jazz percussionists of his generation, Ari Hoenig is worth watching.”
– Ken Dryden, All Music Guide
“The city’s hottest young jazz drummer delivers such a powerful message that drums may never be the same… Ari Hoenig is an underground sensation.”
– John McCormick, Flavorpill NYC
“One of the astounding jazz piano trios of the past decade.”
– Don Williamson, Jazz Review
